Steilacoom Washington is one of my favorite little towns in the world. They have worked hard to keep the small town quaint feeling. No box retailers. Beautiful views. cool architecture. Of course it costs an arm and a leg to live there. They also don't really have room to expand. i grabbed a coffe at the Espresso shop and drove around town and down by the water towards university place and back. I miss making that drive out to J and Cs old place. Their new place is a slightly different route, but still awfully nice.
Ferry out to the islands.
Look at the colors of Fall. Awesome. In Washington they'll last for a couple months, Alaska a couple weeks if you are lucky.
