Old Man winter is definitely here. Snow snow snow. It has also dropped into single digits. Ick. I like the snow but the cold cold and the wind up here brings the fun factor down pretty quickly.
The CAC kids have been in training all week. In a couple days they were trained up on how to completely tear down a pinsetter and build it back up from scratch. Switches. pulleys, gear boxes, The whole shooting match. We finally got to bowl a few frames. I sucked but was soon nailing some strikes.
The movers from Fairbanks showed up and packed my stuff. The guy in the picture below looked familiar. Found out he worked with my rugby bud Aaron doing HVAC. Alaska is a small town!!
Yesterday, I spent the day on a fools errand. I was going to tow my tacoma with my 4runner. I spent 4 hours hooking up the hitch system and on the first test run the weight of the tacoma pushed the 4runner all over the road. Basically, it would be suicide driving through Canada. Luckily the hitch tore out of the mounting bracket, so my guardian angel saved me once again. I threw the Taco in the RV storage lot and have started planning my summer 2012 vacation back in Alaska. Anybody want to go fishing in Valdez, ride a ferry down the inside passage, and see the West Coast, let me know, I'm paying for the camping.
Today, change the oil in the 4runner, let the sun come up and warm the road a bit and it is off to Whitehorse. Wish me luck. California or Bust.
Hasta Luego.
