A type of gatlin style gun, not designed by Gatlin. The guide said there was no way for it to traverse (go side to side) but if I'm not mistaken, the horizontal round would do just that if you loosened the bottom handle. Looks like a T&E on a machine gun tripod to me, I should know, I carried one for 6 years, but mine was belt fed and used in Viet Nam.
